Walking Through a Season of Change

Just because something is changing doesn’t mean God has stopped working.
Sometimes, change is where His new work begins.

“To everything there is a season,
A time for every purpose under heaven.”
— Ecclesiastes 3:1 NKJV

Change is hard.
The unknown can bring all kinds of emotions—fear, anxiety, stress, even loneliness.
One thing we can be certain of is that life never stays exactly the same.
Seasons change.
Circumstances change.
Relationships change.
Plans change.

And if we’re honest, we’re rarely completely ready for the uncertainty that comes with it.
Sometimes change is difficult because we’re still holding onto what was, while God is asking us to trust Him with what will be.
Some seasons are for building.
Some are for waiting.
Some are for letting go.
And some are for beginning again.

The difficult part is recognizing when one season has served its purpose and God is beginning to lead us into another.
Sometimes we’re asking God to keep us in a season He has already begun leading us out of.

“A man’s heart plans his way,
But the LORD directs his steps.”
— Proverbs 16:9 NKJV

We make plans.
We picture how things are supposed to go.
We become comfortable with what we know.
Then something changes.

And suddenly the path we thought we were walking looks different.

But a change in our plans doesn’t mean there has been a change in God’s faithfulness.
Maybe this season of change isn’t about having all the answers.
Maybe it’s about trusting God enough to take the next step—even when we can’t see where the path is leading.

It’s okay to appreciate the season you’re leaving behind.
It’s okay to miss what was.
And it’s okay to feel uncertain about what comes next.
But don’t become so focused on what is changing that you miss what God may be changing it for.
The same God who walked with you through the last season is already present in the next one.

And while you’re somewhere in between?

He’s there too.
So keep praying.
Keep trusting.
Keep walking.

You may be walking through a season of change, but you’re not walking through it alone.

Prayer:
Lord, change isn’t always easy.
When I don’t understand what You’re doing or where You’re leading me, help me trust You.
Give me the courage to let go when You’re asking me to let go, patience when You’re asking me to wait, and faith to step forward when You’re leading me somewhere new.
Thank You for being faithful in every season of my life.
Wherever this next season leads, help me remember that You are already there.
