What Do I Do Now?
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart,And lean not on your own understanding;In all your ways acknowledge Him,And He shall direct your paths.”— Proverbs 3:5–6 NKJV
Have you ever had so many questions running through your mind that you simply don’t know what to do?
Confusion, fear and self doubt seem to control your thoughts…
What am I supposed to do?
What if I make the wrong decision?
What’s going to happen next?
Why is this happening?
What is everyone else doing?
How is this all going to work out?
Sometimes the more we try to figure everything out, the more confused, stressed, and afraid we become.
Maybe that’s why Proverbs tells us not to lean on our own understanding.
God isn’t asking us to have every answer. He’s asking us to trust Him.We may not understand why something is happening. We may not know where a decision will lead. We may look around and wonder why everyone else’s path seems clearer than ours. But Jesus gave Peter a powerful reminder when Peter became concerned about someone else’s path:
“…what is that to you? You follow Me.”— John 21:22 NKJV
Maybe that’s the reminder we need today too. I don’t have to figure out tomorrow.
I don’t have to understand everything happening around me.
I don’t have to know how it’s all going to work out.
I only have one thing to do today: follow Him.
Trust Him with what I don’t understand. Seek Him in the decisions I have to make. And take the next step He puts in front of me.
Because I don’t have to know the whole way when I know the One I’m following.
Prayer: Lord, when my mind is filled with questions, fear, and uncertainty, help me trust You instead of trying to figure everything out on my own. Give me wisdom for today’s decisions and faith to leave tomorrow in Your hands. Keep my eyes on Jesus and help me simply follow where You lead. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
